Remote boat control: Implementation guide
In short
It possible to make a hardware connection between your boat and the Let's Book platform. You can easily connect bookings to specific boats and start the engine directly from the software.
In this article we explain how to set up. Here are the steps you should go through before you get started:
1. Connect your boats
Connect your boats to Let's Book. At the moment this can be done via Trackunit, Qondor or via an SMS-Relay. Read here how to set it up.
2. Communication to the customer
Via communication flows you can manage what information your customer receives about the booking and sailing trip. For example, you can put extra instructions in the booking confirmation, which already explain how people can start their boat themselves.
Text messages
In addition, you can add extra text messages. Click a communication flow and hit 'add'. You'll find option to send out text messages a day or 15 minutes before the start of the trip. It contains a link to the booking detail page with the start interface.
There are different regulations per country for the sending of automated text messages. Therefore, the text is not editable, and the number of supported countries is limited. At the moment we send your customers who speak Dutch, English, Danish, Spanish, Swedish, Italian or Portuguese a message in their own language. In other cases we will send an English message.
3. Manage texts in the interface
Go for perfection, and check all interface texts via Copy & Translations. The copy used can be found in the 'Browse' section under CustomerArea > BookingDetails. That way you can add specific directions or tips to the interface that are useful for your customers to know.
When you are live, you can see on the booking detail page when a customer has picked, started, paused or stopped a boat, or when he has switched to another boat. You can also link the boat(s) to the booking yourself on this booking detail page, or on your fleet overview.
